Make highest priority upgrades to address health, safety, modernization and cost savings at all existing schools.  Includes roofing, seismic upgrades, building security, replacing worn-out fixtures. (See detail on other side.)

2.      IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY & REDUCE ENERGY COSTS

Analyze energy use in each building; replace lighting, windows and upgrade heating/cooling systems.

3a. ACCOMMODATE GROWTH AT HOOD RIVER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

Build classrooms; add gym seating; enlarge music/drama space to serve 150 additional students.

3b. PURCHASE ENOUGH LAND FOR TWO FUTURE SCHOOLS

Purchase land for future schools at today’s prices, using Land Acquisition Fund and bond proceeds.

Replace 1937 cafeteria and gym with new cafeteria. Replace covered play area.

3e.  WY’EAST MIDDLE

Build new music room with performance seating; remodel current music room (former 1951 auto shop) for classrooms to replace oldest portable.

3f.  PARKDALE ELEMENTARY

Add new library; convert existing library to computer lab.

3g.  HOOD RIVER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Replace music room (former 1950? bus barn); add science classroom

3h.  CASCADE LOCKS

Upgrades, including remodeling a classroom for added science lab
